Burrards beat the Shooters pub Devils 8-7 to win their first Alcan Cup. MVP for the Gold Medal game was goaltender Chad Peiper who was picked up by Vancouver from Armstrong
The Burrards also won the Dorothy Robertson Trophy as the most Sportsmanlike team
The Vancouver Burrards scored timely goals on their way to capturing the 11th annual Rio Tinto Alcan Cup Canadian Senior Invitational lacrosse championship in Prince George. The Burrards scored in the first 90 seconds of the first period.Then only 19 seconds into the second and 10 ticks off the clock into the final period as they edged the defending champion Shooters Pub Devils 8-7. The only out of town team in the 5 club tournament never trailed in the final. Scott Anderson scored 5 of the Devils 7 goals. In the third place game it was the Tabor Sports Pub Stylers getting by the BX Pub Bandits 8-6.
